Implants and advanced dentistry

Restoring a Whole Arch of Teeth

Where several teeth or a full arch of teeth are missing or failing, implants can be used to support a fixed or removable restoration. The aim is to restore your smile, chewing function and confidence with personalised implant care.

This is our first priority treatment as a practice. Using digital technology and careful planning, we provide implant and full arch solutions at our Seymour practice, so patients across the Mitchell Shire and surrounding region can access this treatment locally.

Who This Treatment Is For

Full arch and multiple implant treatment may be considered where:

  • Several adjacent teeth are missing
  • All the teeth in an arch are missing
  • Remaining teeth are failing due to advanced decay or gum disease
  • An existing denture is loose, uncomfortable or difficult to manage

How It Works

Rather than placing an implant for every missing tooth, a smaller number of carefully positioned implants can support a full arch restoration. The number of implants required depends on your bone, the type of restoration and how the load is distributed across your bite.

The restoration may be fixed in place or designed to be removable for cleaning. Each approach has advantages, and we will explain the difference so you can choose what suits your circumstances and your ability to maintain it.

Planning With Digital Technology

Full arch cases are planned in detail before any treatment begins. We use an intraoral scanner, OPG imaging and RayFace facial scanning, which allows Dr Lee to plan the case in the context of your facial proportions rather than the teeth alone.

Digital planning helps determine implant position, assess available bone and design a restoration that functions well and looks natural. It also means we can talk you through the plan visually before you commit.

The Treatment Journey

Full arch treatment is a staged process carried out over several months. It typically involves:

  • A detailed assessment, including scans, imaging and a medical history review
  • A planning appointment where the proposed treatment, sequence, timeframe and written estimate are explained
  • Any preparatory treatment, which may include removal of failing teeth
  • Placement of the implants
  • A healing period while the bone integrates with the implants
  • Fitting of the final restoration
  • Ongoing reviews and maintenance

We will set out your individual timeline at the planning stage so you know what to expect at each step.

Honest Advice About Outcomes

This is significant treatment, and it is not right for everyone. Bone volume, gum health, general health, medications and smoking all affect suitability and outcome. Some patients will be better served by a conventional or implant-retained denture, and we will tell you if that is the case.

Results vary between patients. Full arch restorations require thorough daily cleaning and regular professional reviews, and the surrounding gum and bone can be affected by disease if maintenance lapses.

We will explain the risks, the alternatives and the maintenance commitment involved before you make a decision.
