Contact us promptly if you have:
- Toothache that is severe, persistent or keeping you awake
- Swelling of the gum, face or jaw
- A broken, chipped or cracked tooth
- A tooth that has been knocked out
- A lost filling or crown
- Bleeding that will not stop after a dental procedure
- An injury to the mouth, lips or jaw
- Pain or infection around a wisdom tooth
If you are unsure whether your problem is urgent, call us and describe what has happened. Our team will advise you.
Outside Our Opening Hours
We are open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm, and closed on weekends.
For a medical emergency, uncontrolled bleeding, difficulty breathing or swallowing, or a significant facial injury, call 000 or go to your nearest hospital emergency department. Facial swelling that is spreading or affecting your breathing needs immediate medical attention, not a wait until morning.

What to Do Before You Get to Us
- Knocked-out adult tooth
- handle it by the crown, not the root. If it is clean, try to reinsert it into the socket. If not, keep it in milk and contact us immediately. Time matters.
- Broken tooth
- rinse with warm water and keep any fragments. Avoid chewing on that side.
- Toothache
- rinse with warm salty water. Do not place aspirin against the gum, as it can burn the tissue.
- Swelling
- call us the same day. Do not wait to see whether it settles.
- Lost filling or crown
- keep the crown if you have it and avoid chewing on that side.
What Happens at an Emergency Appointment
We assess the problem, take any imaging needed, and work to relieve your discomfort. Depending on what we find, we may complete treatment on the day or stabilise the situation and arrange a follow-up appointment.
We will explain what has happened, what the options are and what each involves before proceeding.
